If you’re looking for a way to control your lighting in a way that helps you sleep better, then an alarm clock isn’t always the best option for you. With today’s technologies, there are multiple ways to control your environment. One new option available to you comes from the Flux Bluetooth Smart LED Light Bulb.
Your first step is to download the Flux Bluetooth app to your smartphone or tablet. From there, you can control a single light bulb, an entire room of lights, and even light strips from this manufacturer so you can create the perfect ambiance. Through the app, you have access to a palette of 16 million colors, including cool and warm white.
It also allows you to create a wake-up light environment. You can schedule your light to turn off or on at a specific time. Using the sunrise feature, the bulb will gradually brighten as you wake up. Turn on the lights before you get home, set them on a timer when you’re away from home, and wake-up in a natural way with this product.
Key Observations of the Flux Bluetooth Smart LED Light Bulb
Our favorite feature with this specific wake-up light is the music synching option. You can sync the light to any music and the light will pulse to the beat of the song. It’s a way to create your own party atmosphere or a time of relaxation within your own home. It is also a way for those with hearing difficulties to still can enjoy the music that is playing.
The smartphone and tablet app is straightforward and easy to use. You will need to have a Bluetooth 4.0 compatible device to use the Flux light bulb. It does not work with Alexa-equipped devices.
The start-up sequence for the light is very fast, rated at 0.5 seconds. It’s easily one of the fastest lights that we could test. You can also create custom modes that can be shared with others over email or SMS text, including the sunrise simulation.
Transition cycles last for up to 30 minutes. You can also set this light bulb to function as a dusk simulator. The various colors do not offer the brightening or fading experience. Sunrise and sunset are white colors only.
One fun feature we liked using quite a bit was the “camera mode.” Using the camera on your smartphone or tablet, you can pick out the color for your light bulb through its lens. This allows you to pick out the perfect color whenever you happen to see it.

This product is unique and fun to use. It works effectively as a sunrise alarm, especially if you don’t want an audio cue for waking up. Accessing the full functionality of this product, however, can be difficult for people who are using older smartphones and tablets. It gives you natural lighting, full customization, and work as advertised.
